SPAY & NEUTER
FOR PETS OF DELAWAREANS RECEIVING PUBLIC ASSISTANCE
SPAY AND NEUTER IS GREAT FOR YOUR PET!
It can help them live longer, and prevents unwanted litters. When your dog or cat has a litter, and they have a litter, then they have a litter, it can add up to thousands of homeless animals in a few short years. The Spay & Neuter Program is just $20 if you qualify, and includes A FREE RABIES SHOT, all with the help of some of Delaware’s best veterinarians.
Thank you for your interest in the Delaware Spay & Neuter Program. The program is unable to accept applications and fund new surgeries at this time due to a large number of requests. The Division of Public Health Office of Animal Welfare’s goal is to accept applications again starting July 1, 2017.
Why Spay or Neuter Your Pet?
Experts and pet lovers agree, there are plenty of great reasons to spay or neuter your pet.
- Your pet may live longer and be healthier,
as spay and neuter helps prevent several health issues, such as cancer.
- Your pet may behave better
as it may reduce aggression, the urge to roam, howling, fighting, and territorial marking; and for females, they won’t go into heat.
- Your home will be nicer.
Neutered pets don’t mark their territories as much by peeing in the house, and are less likely to tear things up.
- It’s well worth the money.
This program is discounted thanks to a special arrangement with local veterinarians. And, it’s much less costly than caring for a litter.
- Your pet will love you for it.
Spay and neuter often helps pets to be less frustrated, and to focus more on their families. So, they’re happier – and so are you!
- You’re doing the right thing as an animal lover.
Spay and neuter prevents unwanted litters. It prevents animals from becoming strays, and Delaware shelters are full of cats and dogs in need of homes.
